A WHITWELL man who set fire to a house while he was inside it has been jailed for three years.
Richard Musgrove, 32, started the fire in the bedroom of his partner’s house on Wilson Street, Dronfield on 8th May last year.
He called the fire service when the blaze began to get out of hand.
When firefighters arrived he was inside the property suffering the effects of smoke inhalation.
The fire, which damaged most of the first floor of the house, was started when clothing was set alight. Musgrove, of Larpit Green, Whitwell was arrested and charged with arson.
He pleaded guilty to the offence and was jailed for three years at Derby Crown Court on Friday.
