A 53-year-old man who was caught committing a sex act at Clumber Park has avoided a jail sentence.
Richard Toon appeared at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, September 17 for sentencing.
He had previously admitted the two counts of exposure at a previous hearing on Thursday, August 6.
The court heard that Toon was masturbating in full sight of families and children at about 5.15pm on June 6.
He was spotted by a couple walking their dog, who initially thought he was urinating.
Toon, who became aware of the couple, ran away and hid in some bushes, but the dog walkers followed him and took a photo of his registration plate.
About 15 minutes later, a ranger at the National Trust location then noticed Toon masturbating, before asking him to leave.
Toon, of Mallard Close, Shirebrook, had previously stated at the hearing in Mansfield on August 6 that it was due to ‘frustrations’ in his home life.
He received a three-year community order, which includes a three-year sex offender programme.
Toon must also complete 150 hours unpaid work, pay £200 to each victim, £85 costs, a £60 victim surcharge and £180 criminal courts charge.
He must also sign the sex offenders’ register for five years
