A LOCAL action centre has recently undergone a name change to ensure that everyone can relate to the projects it offers.
For the last 20 years the Retford Action Centre and its dedicated team of staff and volunteers have managed to keep pace with very challenging times.
It takes pride in being a community resource agency linking individuals and organisations throughout the Bassetlaw area.
Recently the centre changed its name to the Bassetlaw Action Centre.
“I am delighted to announce our new name Bassetlaw Action Centre which better relfects the work that we do and the area that we serve,” said chief executive Lynn Tupling.
“We currently have 10 projects which all operate Bassetlaw wide, but of course our office base is still at Canal Street in Retford.”
The actioncentre has a wide variety of projects including the Bassetlaw Community Car Scheme, which provides a community transport service and Housing Choices - which offers help, advice and support to older people on housing related issues.
If you are interested in any of the services or becoming a volunteer car scheme driver or minibus driver contact the centre on 01777 709650 or visit www.bassetlawactioncentre.org.uk.
