Residents who were evacuated from their homes after a fire at a workshop which contained gas cylinders have been allowed to return.

Lincs Fire and Rescue were called to a workshop in High Street, Blyton after a fire was reported at around 1.25pm yesterday (Wednesday 15th October).

It was believed the workshop contained acetylene (gas) cylinders so for that reason it was decided to evacuate residents within 100 metres of the blaze.

Surrounding properties were also evacuated and the road was closed.

The road reopened at 7.50pm yesterday and residents were allowed to return to their homes.

There have still been police and fire officers at the scene today (Thursday) and there is ongoing disruption to the road but it is passable.
