On April 26, Harold Streets took the members “Here and there and Now and Then.” He began with family photos from the late Victorian era to the present day. A small Harold was shown riding on a toy horse and his great granddaughter followed in his footsteps.

He then moved on to early photos of Whitwell’s shops from the early part of the twentieth century, and also of Worksop’s busy town centre and the town hall before the alterations and re-naming the Queen’s Building.

Pictures of the Wesley Church on Newcastle Avenue before and during the fire, and also the magnificent Crossing Church after the rebuild. He then moved further afield to Vancouver with a display of colourful totem poles and on to Alaska with blue skies meeting the snowy mountains sweeping into a vivid blue sea. On May 3, Mike Whysell will talk about the “Slums, hardships and hosiery in the early Nottingham history.”
