Fans of music from the 70s and 80s will be in for a treat with some of the greatest artists and bands from that era at Clumber Park’s Flashback Festival next weekend.

The weekend will kick-off Friday, August 21 with the best of the 70s.

The line-up consists of Boney M, The Real Thing, Hot Chocolate, Odyssey and disco legends Sister Sledge.

The following day sees the return of all things 80, headlined by Sheffield band The Human League.

The line-up also includes Soft Cell frontman Marc Almond, Jason Donovan, 5 Star, and Toyah and Flashbacks.

And the event will be underway earlier than usual to allow for a special afternoon set from Soul II Soul..

And returning once again to compere the Saturday events will be the Doctor from Doctor and the Medics.

Over the past couple of years The Flashback Festival has proved itself to be one of the premier Summer events in the UK,” he said.

“This year an amazing line up of outstanding artists from the 70s and 80s are not to be missed and will, without doubt, enhance the event’s reputation for many years to come.

“I’m lucky enough to be compering the event again this year and I have to say one of the main factors for the event’s growing reputation is the amazing crowd.

“Made up of all ages, it is as much a colourful spectacle to observe from the stage as the bands are from the crowd.

“You can feel the buzz from onstage and it inspires every performer and that chemistry between audience and artistes creates a unique atmosphere that has to be experienced to be believed.

“Look forward to seeing you all at Clumber Park.”

This year the festival organisers have decided to expand the facilities to include a ‘Silent Disco’ which will take place after the event.

Silent discos have taken the festival scene by storm over the past couple of years and can even be found at the UK’s biggest festival – Glastonbury.
