The Clumber Players are presenting Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night at Thoresby Park this month.
Viola is shipwrecked on the coast of Illyria and she comes ashore with the help of a captain.
She loses contact with her twin brother, Sebastian, who she believes to be drowned.
Disguising herself as a young man under the name Cesario, she enters the service of Duke Orsinio.
Orsinio is in love with Olivia, but she is mourning the death of her father and refuses to have anything to do with him.
Orsinio then uses Cesario as an intermediary to profess his passionate love before Olivia.
However Olivia falls in love with Cesario, not knowing he is a woman in disguise.
In the meantime, Viola has fallen in love with Orsinio, creating a love triangle between Orsinio, Olivia and Viola.
Meanwhile Malvolio, Olivia’s pompous steward, believes Olivia has fallen for him so her uncle, Sir Toby Belch, with his drunken friends plan to trick Mavolio.
The play is being performed at Thoresby Park from July 13 to 16 at 7.30pm each night.
Tickets are £11 and £9 on 01623 822009 or at the entrance on the night. For more information visit www.clumberplayers.org.uk
