Following last year’s sell-out Ruby Anniversary tour, British punk legends The Stranglers are back on the road in 2015.

And they are Nottingham’s Rock City this month.

One of the punk era’s most eclectic and non compromising bands,The Stranglers have always drawn upon a wide range of musical genres.

From pop to prog, metal to jazz, creating their own distinctive style, the band have created some of the most memorable pop and rock tunes of the last five decades, from the strident opening bass solo of No More Heroes to the lilting harpsichord strains of Golden Brown

Last year, fans, old and new, flocked to venues throughout the land to hear a thrilling programme of music, spanning five decades.

For the band, it was a record-breaking UK tour with sell-out shows at venue after venue as music fans voted with their feet.

And at in Nottingham, there’s every chance one of the band’s most famous fans will be in the crowd again.

Former England defender Stuart Pearce is a legend amongst the city’s football fans for his many years as captain of Nottingham Forest under the equally legendary Brian Clough.

Pearce was nicknamed psycho, which tells you all you need to know about his playing style.

And it should therefore probably come as no surprise that The Stranglers are one of his favourite bands and he has met them many times.

And The Stranglers have paid him the compliment in return by naming their Psycho Records label after him.

The Stranglers are at Rock City on 24th March.
