THERE will be no Fake Festival in Worksop this summer - as organisers are weary of competition from the Olympics and European football.
Last summer’s event saw hundreds of music fans descend on Worksop Rugby Club for a trio of tribute bands and a number of local groups.
However, no festival has been organised for this year.
“It’s absolutely down to the Olympics and Euro 2012,” said Jez Lee, owner of Fake Festivals.
“From a business point of view there’s just no point in competing.”
“We’ve had to cut a number of the events around the country on our calendar - it’s just bad timing really.”
He added: “However we do hope to return next year - calendar permitting.”
However there will still be a Fake Festival in Retford on Saturday 7th July.
