MUSIC-LOVERS are in for a treat as the legendary Midlands and North Classic Banjo Rally is set to return to Clowne this weekend.
The rally has previously been held at Ridgeway near Sheffield but circumstances this year have dictated a change of venue. It will now take place at Clowne Community Centre.
Organisers say that Clowne has been chosen due to its to the M1 and the facilities provided by the Community Centre are ideal for this sort event.
A spokesman said: “The Rally welcomes anyone with an interest in classic finger-style banjo, as was popular in the early years of the 20th century.”
“Come along and enjoy trade stalls selling a variety of banjos, music, recordings and accessories and plenty of expertise to help the novice, not to mention some great live music.”
The Midlands and North Classic Banjo Rally will take place at Clowne Community Centre on Saturday 27th April from 12pm - 5pm. An informal concert will start around 1pm and there will be catering all afternoon.
The event is open to members of the public and the entrance fee is £4.
