Scrooby’s opera sensation Kamilla Dunstan is hosting a concert for the community to raise funds to further her musical studies.
The young mezzo-soprano is currently studying to complete her masters in music performance at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow.
“I am in the process of trying to raise funds for my next three years of study,” said Kamilla.
“I have another year of my masters and in winter I am auditioning for opera schools around the UK and possibly in Germany and the USA.”
On Saturday 5th July Kamilla will host a fundraising concert at St Mary’s & St Martin’s at Blyth.
She will be joined by three young guest artists who are students at her teaching studio Vivo Music Studio.
“I usually do concerts with other students around the area, as well as my own, to promote talent,” said Kamilla.
“It gives young people a chance to perform in public where they are not judged.”
This time the performers joining Kamilla are Samantha Tindle, Holly Haith and Hannah Ashton, three of her students from Retford and Worksop.
The concert, called Work in Progress, will include Mozart, Saint-Saeans, Massenet, Duparc, Bach, Brahms, Gluck, Rossini and a musical theatre selection.
The concert is on 5th July at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £10 on the door and include a glass of wine and canapés.
