Ordsall Bridon moved to the top of the Bassetlaw and District Cricket League Championship with a five wicket win over Worksop.
The home side took to the field first, with Tim Miles’ spell of 3-19 restricting the visitors to 149 all out.
An unbeaten 63 from Paul van den Heuval eased Ordsall home for the loss of just five wickets.
Retford were forced to take a losing draw in a high-scoring match with Anston.
Despite the best efforts of Jon Cooke (5-81), the visitors posted 255 for 8 in their innings.
Cooke’s 101 and Mark Bull’s 86 gave some endurance to the Retford innings, but they could only reach 235 for 7 in reply.
In Division Two, Ordsall Bridon II suffered a narrow nine run at Anston II.
In the third tier, Retford II won a low-scoring match against Mansfield and Pleasley II.
Accurate bowling from Gary Toward (3-9) and Kevin Pattenden (3-22) saw the home side dismissed for 105, which Retford II reached with four wickets in hand.
On Saturday, Ordsall Bridon travel to North Wheatley with Leverton, while Retford are away at Harthill.
