MONDAY Night Football League newcomers Ropery Rangers gave a good account of themselves against a strong BFDC side.

After going 3-0 down early on, with BFDC debutant Kieran Killelaly scoring a first half hat-trick, Ropery found their feet and played some good football. Kieran Padgett scored a brace of really good goals but the experience of BFDC saw them home with Green scoring a late goal to finally kill off the new boys.

In the other game it was a close battle between FC Alright Dave and Blues Brothers with the former’s player manager Danny Markham firing in a late winner.

Results for 2nd July: Blues Brothers 3, FC Alright Dave 4; BFDC 8, Ropery Rangers 5; Real Ale Madrid 3, Diamond Utd 0 (walkover).

Fixtures for 9th July: 6.30pm - BFDC v Real Ale Madrid; 7.15pm - FC Alright Dave v Dreamboys; 8pm - Ropery Rangers v Blues Brothers.
