X Box win three out of four

A local boxing club has had three wins in four bouts in recent weeks, at shows all over the region.

Richard Herrick was the first X Box Boxing Academy product to take to the ring, winning a close battle at a show in Scunthorpe.

Matt Jones was unable to make it two wins from two as he lost to what X Box head coach Chris Boyle described as a very ‘game’ boxer, in Selby.

But Elliot Holloway got the club back to winning ways, and Jake Wale made it two wins out out two for X Box Boxing Academy at Newark Showground.

Coach Boyle told the Guardian he was delighted with the club’s progress this season, and an impressive winning record.

“Both lads at Newark boxed impressively, taking clear victories.”

“This takes our season record to a very impressive 16 wins out of 20.”

“The X Box brand and style of boxing we teach and believe in is really reaping its rewards.”
