TRESSWELL teenager Matthew Waters has continued to represent the Retford and District Wheelers well, with some impressive competitive riding.
Competing at the Manchester Velodrome last Saturday, he rode in the Ominium with some of the best youth talent in the country, finishing third in the 40 kilometre scratch race, seventh in the 40 lap points race along with a Keiron and a 500 meter time trial, finishing 15th overall and the top placed East Midlands rider.
Last weekend’s Retford Wheelers club ride was to Sherwood Pines.
Two groups left Retford market square, both heading for the same destination, but taking different routes; one group making for the ‘off road trails’, while the main group took a circuitous route around Harthill, Clowne and Warsop before meeting the mountain bikers at the destination cafe stop.
The club ride this Sunday will be to Matlock Bath with the option of a shorter ride to Teversal.
Riders should meet in Retford market square at 9am prompt for both rides.
New riders are welcome.
