Two days of swimming

The 2013 Notts County Age Group Championships began with two days of competition at Water Meadows Leisure Centre, Mansfield.

Swimmers aged nine to 14 who have achieved the qualifying times are eligible to compete against each other to determine the best swimmers in the county.

This year’s Retford squad comprises 33 age group swimmers racing in one or more events over the three weekends of the championships.

The first day of competition was split into three sessions.

The Retford squad recorded great success including a gold medal in the 100m Breaststroke for Samuel Templeton.

Finleigh Dukes came away with a silver medal for the 400m IM and a bronze for the 100m Butterfly.

Emma Davies picked up the silver for the 50m Freestyle and there were two bronze medals in the 200m Backstroke and 200m Freestyle for Thomas Deeley.

Many swimmers achieved top 10 placings in their individual age groups and an impressive 52 personal best times and four Midland qualifying times were recorded.
