RANBY House School were celebrating when their cross country team excelled in Kirkby in Ashfield at the County Schools’ Cross Country Championships.

Randy, having previously become Champion School in the Bassetlaw District, were representing the region at the County Finals.

A school spokesperson said the team had made everyone proud yet again.

“We are delighted that after a very wet, slippery and muddy run the Ranby House team were crowned the overall Schools’ County Champion for the Year 7 Boys’ race and runners-up for the Year 7 Girls’ race.”

“They were also part of the Bassetlaw Team who became District Champions.”

The joint team from Worksop College and Ranby House for the Year 8/9 Boys’ race and the Year 8/9 Girls’ Race, although not in the final placings, put in some very strong individual performances.

Emily Mitchell who came in ninth, is now the County Reserve runner and is hoping to attend the national event.

Individuals performing well at the event included Year 7 boys George Finlay (2nd), Oliver Dane (3rd) and Freddie Haith and Year 7 girl Philippa Wilson (3rd).
