Freshney takes fourth place

RETFORD and District Wheeler Ian Freshney continues to improve, taking fourth place in the midweek TLI road race, which has now moved to the Harworth circuit.

Alan Hazard had the misfortune to puncture in his race, along with another dozen riders; a result of drawing pins being scattered on the circuit.

Paul Austin rode in the Lincoln Ridge 42-mile road race last Sunday, taking seventh place in the 55-60 age group event, while Alan Hazard participated in the Newark Castle 25-mile time trial on the Long Bennington course, returning his first 25mph ride of the season with 59:42.

Only eight riders managed to complete the full distance of 90 miles on last Sunday’s club run to Humberside Airport.

The club run this Sunday will be to Sherwood Pines.

A group of riders are planning to ride ‘off road’ using mountain bikes and will meet up with the rest of the members who will take the usual route.

Meet in Retford market square at 9am.
