As the cycling road season presses on into the Autumn period, the Andy Moore Autocentres Racing Team made the long journey to Lancaster University’s coastline circuit.

At a well supported event, the first in a four race series, Worksop’s Andy Bishop played a key role in securing a podium finish for his team-mate Jono Dexter.

The four strong team of Dexter, Adam Turner, Bishop and Retford rider Calum Lawson all working to maintain the team’s impressive run of recent form.

The circuit proved challenging in places with the damp and greasy corners requiring respect, and Turner helped to manage the peloton to enable his team mates to produce the end result.

Dexter was well protected throughout, and Bishop raised the pace on several occasions to try and tempt the field into a response.

Dexter maintained his cool, and on the final few laps his team mates turned up the speed and formed an impressive lead out to launch him to the final sprint, helping him take second place.
