Aston Hall were comprehensively beaten by South Yorkshire Premier rivals Hallam at Green Lane.
Hallam decided to bat first, and skipper Nick Dymock reached 59 before he was dismissed.
Humphrey Emery hit a bright 58 to take Hallam to a daunting 230 for 6.
Aston’s response dwindled to 56 for 7 and then to 88 for 9.
But captain Rob Ward conspired with Gary Steele to produce a last wicket defiance and take the score to 127.
Steele smashed a merry 29 in only 13 balls.
Neil Mountjoy took 4 for 56 and Craig Moffatt 4 for 25 for Hallam.
In Division One, Aston Hall met fellow relegation battlers Rockingham B at Hoyland Common.
The Aston men won by six wickets.
Dave Smith opened with 38 but could not prevent Rockingham being bowled out for 139.
Nigel Walker took 4 for 36 for Aston.
Opener Andrew Haywood batted through Aston’s innings to see them to victory with 55 not out.
Andy Shore took 3 for 39 for Rockingham.
Division Three’s Maltby moved to the top of the table after beating Norton Oakes B at Muglet Lane.
Norton batted first, but apart from skipper Paul Sear who contributed 27, there was little else of note and the innings concluded at 76 all out.
Maltby’s opening strike partnership of Liam Woodward (3 for 24) and Gary Mills (3 for 29) are major contributors to Maltby’s success this season and each claimed three wickets.
The hosts reached a winning conclusion after losing four wickets and using 16.4 overs.
Paul Jevons was 23 not out at the close.
In Division Four Frecheville B were bowled out for 64 against Maltby B.
Jordan Beighton did the most damage with 5 for 10.
Maltby used 11.1 overs and two wickets in reaching a winning total.
