Wheelers promoting road races

RETFORD and District Wheelers will be promoting several road races next Sunday, on a new closed circuit in Thoresby Park.

The first race will be for fourth category riders, and will be for a duration of 40 minutes plus five laps, and will start at 10am.

The second race is for third category riders and will be for 50 minutes plus five laps and is due to start at 11.45am.

The final race will be for Under 16/Under 14 riders, over 12 laps and is due to start at 1.30pm.

Graeme Waters is the event organiser and can be contacted on 07841 969206 for further information, or alternatively email info@britishcycling.org.uk

All marshals and competitors are asked to be at the race headquarters in Thoresby gallery car park in good time for their respective events.

Last weekend's club run was to Sudbrooke in Lincolnshire.

A dozen riders set out on a route over Dunham Bridge to Torksey Loc, from where the back lanes to Scampton were taken.

After a brief viewing of the Red Arrows in practise the riders continued on their journey to the destination cafe.

The return journey was by way of Hackthorn to Stow and back into Gainsborough and Retford for late lunch.

Due to the promotion races there will be no club run on Sunday.
