New opponents in Notts Senior Cup
RETFORD UNITED will now face Dunkirk FC in the Notts Senior Cup Quarter Finals after the Nottinghamshire FA removed Hucknall Town for fielding a suspended player in the previous round.
This has meant that the scheduled date for the fixture (Tuesday 3rd March) at Cannon Park has been postponed until the clubs can agree a new date.
After beating Calverton Miners Welfare in the Third Round last week, United were expecting to face Hucknall Town of the Blue Square North this coming Tuesday, but shortly before the weekend it came to light that Hucknall were facing a charge from the County FA for playing a player who had been suspended for, picking up five yellow cards, in their 1-0 win over Dunkirk on 10th February.
Badgers were informed on Saturday morning that due to Hucknall being removed from the competition, East Midlands League side Dunkirk FC have been re-instated and will battle it out with Retford for a place in the semi-finals.
