A GATEFORD Park student is taken a huge leap towards a British trampolining championship, after a successful weekend in Wales.

Harry Tomlin travelled to Monmouth, South Wales, on Sunday for the Zonal Schools Trampoline Championships, to take on the top trampolinists from Wales, Essex, East and West Midlands.

The Bassetlaw Trampoling Club product is coached by Ray Bevan, who told the Guardian: “Harry performed two oustanding routines and finished the day in second place.”

“This has qualified him for the British School Trampoline finals, which are due to be held in March of this year.”

It has already been a highly successful year for Tomlin, who has also been chosen to attend the British Gymnastics Youth Team selections, for the 11-12 age group, on 3rd February.

The selections will take place at the head quarters of British Gymnastics, based at Lilleshall.
