Cricket: Retford lose ground

RETFORD lost ground in the Championship promotion race on Saturday, with a losing draw at home to Marshalls.

The Cricket Field Lane men lie fifth in the table and will hope for a better result when they take on fourth-placed Glapwell this weekend.

Ordsall Bridon, who had a rain draw on Saturday, host Killamarsh.

At South Wheatley: KIVETON PARK (20) 198 all out (Adam Dutton 72, Steve Hallows 3 for 42, Jon Loates 3 for 25) beat NORTH WHEATLEY WITH LEVERTON (6) 164 all out (Jon Loates 35, John Smith 3 for 36, Rob Coxon 4 for 15) by 34 runs.

At Cricket Field Lane: MARSHALLS (16) 165 for 9 (Paul Van den Heuval 54, Stuart Adams 5 for 42) drew with RETFORD (6) 120 for 9 (Jon Cook 30, Nadeem Ahmed 3 for 28, Gary Andrews 4 for 23).
