Beacons in narrow win

IN a full week of fixtures in the Gainsborough and District Table Tennis League, Division One top team Blitz Club Aardvarks could only draw with clubmates Chunky Monkeys.

Blues Club Beacons struggled to a 6-4 win against a two-man Liberal Branch Meteors, while Blues Club Aces lifted themselves off the bottom after a good 7-3 victory over Blitz Bunnies.

In Division Two Blues Club Kestrels lost top spot after going down 6-4 to stablemates Dynamics and Methodist Batmen claimed the number one position with a 7-3 victory over Blues Knights.

Blitz Hyenas won their first point of the season by drawing 5-5 with Gallacticos.

In January a big darts tournament is being held in London promoted by Barry Hearn.

Following this tournament, a hard bat ping pong competition is being held and will include many world champions.

Barry Hearn has insisted on 16 top umpires for this event and two local players/umpires have been included, so congratulations go to Ken Eliot of Methodist Batmen and John Mackey of Blitz Aardvarks.
