Worksop Town 6
LEADING scorer Reece Twell scored a hat-trick as the young Tigers maintained their unbeaten start to their league campaign.
Adam Browne, with two, and Alex Nightingale were the other scorers.
In a scrappy first half with few clear cut chances both sides struggled to produce any free flowing football, howeve Tigers took control of the game with goals either side of half-time.
Twell opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time with an excellent low shot to Tom Johnson’s left in the visitors’ goal, following good work from Nightingale.
Worksop doubled their lead three minutes into the second half when Nightingale and Chris Howard set up Browne to fire home.
Tigers made the game safe around the hour mark with two quick goals as Twell picked up a long ball out of defence, cutting inside from the right firing home for his second of the evening.
Twell then completed his hat-trick as he clipped Corey Bennett’s through ball past the keeper.
Teversal worked to get back into the game as Jordan Hagerty and Max Curzon went close for the visitors, but it was Tigers who finished the stronger making it 5-0 with seven minutes remaining when Nightingale got on the scoresheet , latching onto Twell’s though ball to bury his shot past Johnson.
Browne completed the scoring with his second of the game, finding the net at the second attempt following good work by Harry Johnson and Twell.
On Monday Tigers take on Staveley Miners Welfare away from home in the League Cup second round.
