Retford United’s Under 16 girls finished 2014 in style, with a resounding 10-0 hammering of Newark side Southwell.
In took Retford just 10 minutes to break down the Southwell defence, Leanne Neal beating two defenders before firing home.
Captain Chloe Waugh scored the second after a great pass from midfield.
Through great team work Lucy Farrow buried for 3-0.
A great run then cross from Amber Ellis found the feet of Farrow who tucked the ball into the bottom right.
Waugh was next to assist Farrow for her hat-trick, followed by another 40 seconds later.
Ellis had one of her own when she sent a screamer into the back of the net.
Neale got her second and brought the half-time score in at 8-0 with a long range effort.
Kicking against the wind in the second half, Retford were unable to continue scoring goals at the same rate.
Amelia Huddlestone in net dealt with anything that came her way and the trusty back four of Baker, Whittall, Bennett and Baines saw off any attack from Southwell.
The midfield of Mowbray, Edwards and Wilson worked tirelessly all game, and goal number nine was scored by Waugh.
The final and gbest oal of the day was scored by Megan Edwards.
