Retford United Under 16s were up against it when they took on Arnold with just nine players, but still managed a five star display.

The young Badgers won 5-2 at home, despite losing more players to injury before full-time.

Captain Chloe Waugh stepped up to the mark by covering every blade of grass.

They lined up 3-4-1 and Waugh settled the nerves by grabbing goal number one.

Lucy Farrow scored next and Waugh got her second before the break.

Legs were starting to tire and Arnold got one back before Farrow shook off three Arnold defenders for Retford’s fourth.

Waugh got her hat-trick just before Neale came off injured and Ellis pulled up with a strain, leaving Retford with seven fit players on the pitch for the final four minutes.

The team included Waugh, Huddlestone, Whittall, Baines, Mowbray, Neale, Ellis, Farrow and Player of the Match Baker.
