Retford United took three points and local bragging rights, with a 4-3 win at Sandy Lane over Worksop Parramore on Saturday.
Badgers made the short trip in good spirits, following 6-1 and 4-0 wins over Nostell Miners Welfare and Eastwood Town respectively.
But it was the Parras who had the first chances, former Badger Lee Whittington shooting at Jody Barford and then a ball across goal went just wide.
Ben Muirhead headed over for Retford at the other end, then Andy Walkmen’s shot crashed against a defender.
On 17 minutes Parramore took the lead, as a good shot from Luke Fletcher had Barford well beaten.
Retford were level five minutes later however, Reece Thompson beating the defence and cutting the ball back for Richard Medcalf to beat Steve Hernandez in the Parramore goal.
Sam Smith got on the end of a Parramore corner but his header was over the bar, then Craig Fisher missed from close range at the other end.
The second half began with Parramore on the front foot, Whittington striking the bar inside a minute.
On 49 minutes Retford went ahead for the first time, Thompson playing it into Medcalf who slotted past two players for his second of the afternoon.
Retford went close through Muirhead, Medcalf and Thompson, before the latter made it 3-1, taking advantage of some calamitous defending from the hosts.
Just four minutes later Retford piled further misery on the Parras, Medcalf getting a deserved hat-trick, meeting a free-kick with his head to put the game to bed.
Parramore made a late bid for a point however, earning a penalty when Jack Cross fouled Sam Smith in the area, Smith finding the top corner with the spot-kick.
Then in the 90th minute Whittington struck to make it 4-3, but it was too late and Retford took the points home to secure their sixth win in a row.
On Saturday United play their final game before Christmas with the visit of Long Eaton United to the Jones & Co Stadium.
