Badgers poor league form continues at Parkgate

Retford United’s poor league form continued on Tuesday, with a 2-1 defeat at Parkgate.

The Badgers sit 11th in the NCEL Premier Division, after winning just one of their last seven league games.

On Tuesday two first half goals from home side Parkgate had the game won, before Retford got a late consolation through Reece Thompson.

Their busy week continues on Thursday with a League Cup fourth round tie at home to Heanor Town – the side who beat them 4-0 in the league earlier this month.

Badgers booked their place in the fourth round with a 4-0 win of their own last week against Winterton Rangers.

The goals, all in the second half, came from Thompson, Samuel Jones, Ben Muirhead and Liam Wilkin.

On Saturday Retford travel to Winterton Rangers in the League, before Tuesday night’s home game against Parkgate.
