THE Retford United squad got together for the first time since Christmas at the weekend.
Although the Badgers had no fixture, Peter Duffield got his men together for a fun training session in the snow at Cannon Park.

The top layer of snow on the pitch was very soft, up to seven to eight inches in places with the pitch underneath frozen, and despite the training session, the grass underneath was left relatively untouched.

It was hoped that the players would be back in action on Tuesday night for the UniBond League Cup game against Shepshed Dynamo, but that game fell victim to the weather.

United's next scheduled fixture is a vital home clash against Boston United on Saturday.

A win for Retford would put a six point gap between themselves and third-placed Boston, who have played the same number of games as the Badgers.

Second-placed Bradford Park Avenue are also three points behind Retford United, but with three games in hand.
