WITH qualification for this season's Champion of Champions tournament dependant on being the league leaders at the end of last term, there was a flurry of fixtures as schools rushed to claim their place.
Nowhere was there more tense activity than in Division One as St Augustine's nosed in front of Sir Edmund Hillary with a 2-0 victory over St John's, only to see Hillary respond with a 1-0 defeat of Carr Hill.

Aaron Frost's goal helped Hillary to c
laim both the league title and their place in the tournament.

New Manton and St Anne's had long since won their respective divisions and they will be joined by Divisions Five and Six leaders, Misterton and Haggonfields.

Misterton claimed their place with a 4-1 defeat of previous leaders, Thrumpton, their goals coming from Thomas Hill, Stuart Beevers, Freddie Barnes and Matthew Smith.

Haggonfields held off a strong challenge from Tuxford when their game against each other ended in a 2-2 draw.

Two late goals from Josh Button matched earlier Tuxford goals from Cameron Saville and Brandon Bowskill.

The draw for the first round of the tournament is St Augustine's B v St Anne's and Haggonfields v Misterton with matches having to be played by 10th April.

In the Small Schools Champion of Champions tournament the draw for the semi-finals is Gamston v Everton and Normanton-on-Trent v North Leverton with the ties to be played by April 15th.

Bassetlaw Boys fixtures are near to an end for the season with opponents hard to find as many associations have to catch up with a backlog of fixtures in their own county competitions.
