RETFORD and District Wheelers Schools Champion, Matthew Waters, has made a promising start to his season.
Riding in the British Schools National Roller Racing Championships at Lichfield, Matthew, 12, had to compete in the under 14s category yet in the 500 metres standing-start time trial he gained fifth place and in the 1,000m time trial recorded sixth place.

Next Saturday a number of club members will be competing in the North Midlands Veterans Time Trials Association's annual 18km time trial.
