RETFORD United boss Peter Duffield picked up yet another trophy on Sunday – this time with Middlesborough.
The Badgers boss travelled to the Newcastle Arena to take part in the Northern Masters tournament and came home with another championship.
Duffield (39) pitted his wits with and against some of the big names in North East football, including Niall Quinn, Micky Quinn, Temuri Ketsbaia, Marco Gabbiadini, and Curtis Fleming.
During the tournament, Duffield played three games for his side, firstly against Hartlepool where his own goal was cancelled out by the prolific Craig Hignett in a superb 4-3 win.
Next up were Peter's ex club Darlington, and he made the scoresheet with a great goal before Boro went on to win 5-1.
The final saw Duffield's team take on Newcastle United and a 5-0 thrashing gave Boro the trophy.
RETFORD United have announced that following a further inspection at Cannon Park last week by the UniBond League and the Football Association, the club's ground has passed the Grade D requirements.
This will mean that Cannon Park can host UniBond Division One South football for the next three years.
Further work will be required to achieve a Grade C and this is something that the club will be working towards throughout the coming season to enable a smooth passage to the Premier Division should Duffield's men achieve promotion.
THE Badgers have announced the first dates for their pre-season friendlies.
They will take on Ollerton Town on 12th July at 2pm.
Scottish Division Three side East Stirlingshire will visit Cannon Park on Saturday 19th July 2008 (3pm).
United then entertain League Two side Lincoln City on Tuesday 22nd July (7.30pm) and manager Peter Jackson is expected to send his senior side.
Hot on the heels of the Imps on Saturday 26th July (3pm) will be Ilkeston Town from the UniBond Premier Division at Cannon Park.
Another home game takes place against rivals Worksop Town on 2nd August (3pm).
The pre-season is rounded off at Frickley Athletic on 9th August (3pm).
