A GLAPWELL mum involved in a collision with another car had drunk more than double the limit, a court was told on Monday.
Police on patrol on Heath Road, Holmewood, at 9.15pm on 14th June saw two cars had been involved in a crash.

Driver Charlotte Emery (26) smelled of alcohol and was arrested after she failed a roadside breath test.

She went on to give a reading of 82mcgs of alcohol in 100mls of breath, the limit being 35mcgs.

Emery, of Hawthorne Avenue, admitted drink-driving and had no previous convictions.

Chesterfield magistrates fined her £245, with £60 costs, and imposed a 20-month road ban that will be cut to 15 months if she passes a drink-driving rehabilitation course.

In mitigation, Nick White said Emery drank four or five cans of lager at an afternoon barbecue and a row blew up with her then-partner that upset her and her son, aged six.

Her partner drove her to her parents' home, where she lives, but then another argument developed within the family.

"She was in an emotional state and she got in her car to drive a short distance to see her partner," said Mr White.

He added: "A car in front braked suddenly and there was a kissing touch with the other vehicle."
