LINCOLN will be over-run by the living dead on Sunday 14th October as the Zombie Run UK descends on the city.
The apocalypse will land at the Lincolnshire Showground for a 5km off-road race with a difference - the living dead are hot on your heels.
Zombie Run UK embraces the fascination in popular culture with the walking dead, which can be seen in computer games and films.
Combine this with the chance for people to experience a zombie apocalypse, and you’ve got a spine tinglingly good day out.
The day kicks off with an under 16s race in the morning, and the adult race follows in the afternoon.
At the start of the race entrants will be given three ‘tags’ to wear on a belt.
These represent the participant’s health, and racers must retain their tags while they overcome obstacles, avoiding zombies and co-operating with other survivors to reach the evacuation point and become the ultimate survivor. Think of it as an apocalyptic assault course.
Off the Bench, the company behind Zombie Run UK is an internationally recognised, not-for-profit, community organisation.
They work to get young people involved in positive activities, taking an ‘outside of the box’ approach to all projects. And this one is no exception.
Zombie Run UK, brought to you by Lexus Lincoln, has recently announced three other events at the start of next year.
Zombie Run will arrive in Derby, Nottingham and Sheffield. The epidemic is spreading…
