Have your say

I am writing to you to ask for your support in highlighting the plight of Worksop Town FC, and in doing so being a very visible and vocal supporter of the campaign to not only save the club but to provide future financial stability .

I suspect many more are doing the same, which hopefully reflects the strength and feeling for the current situation the club finds itself in.

Let me first say I am a fan of 40 years, who actually lives a significant distance from the town, where I was born and bred, but travels whenever I can to see the Tigers .

The thought of not having this option or the ‘buzz’ of a Saturday afternoon following the Tigers on whatever media available, fills me with sadness.

I feel confident that a club with a solid and strong supporter base in a large, one club town cannot only weather this storm but will come out of it stronger and fit for the future development on all parts.

It is vital, in my opinion, that the local newspaper leads the rallying cry for the club and ultimately the town as losing a football club can only have a negative effect not only on the loyal fans, but the general well being and lifeblood of the community.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I have my fingers crossed for a successful outcome.

Rob Bland
