Worksop has had a competitive football club playing in the town for 150 years, is that about to end?
My beloved football club are in trouble, in real danger of going out of business. Jason Clark, who has been allowed to bank roll the club for the last five years has walked, granted he has left the Tigers debt free, but still without a home and no means of generating income. The FC has no money and needs £33,000 just to meet its fixed overheads for the 2014/2015 season. They have no money currently to fund a team and a manager who is working for nothing.
Is this the end for the Tigers? Not if I and my fellow supporters can help it. A rescue package is being formulated in order to safeguard the club, now and for the future. To achieve this we need help though from the people and business of Worksop and its surrounding areas. The club needs capital and to meet this they are looking for individuals and companies to sponsor the club by purchasing a season ticket and in doing so join the 500 Club. It is hoped this and other initiatives will generate at least £100,000, a tough ask but if the club can get 500 pledges of £200 it is possible?
I ask, can you help, will you buy a season ticket and do you want a football club to support, be the hub of the community and still be there in another 150 years?
If you do , please contact the club and pledge your support to the Tigers, your local FC needs you!
