LETTER: Scrap smaller councils and form a unitary authority

On the BBC’s East Midlands Today programme on Tuesday, November 1, Broxtowe MP Anna Soubry said: “I would get rid of the borough council, which I know wouldn’t be very popular with a lot of people, especially those councillors who sit on it.
But then I’d have a unitary authority here in Nottinghamshire to do the really big, heavy work.”

LETTER: Brexit decision has been made - get over it

So Owen Smith claims that he is going to keep Britain in the EU by potentially blocking Brexit in Parliament if he gets to be leader of the Labour Party.
There is no need for a vote by MPs in Parliament because the public has already made that decision.
Does he think by saying that he will be elected as leader of the Labour? He must be out of touch with the Labour voters because I believe it was they who swung the vote to leave the EU.
Just look at the last Welsh leader of the Labour Party, Neil Kinnock. Making silly remarks like that Mr Smith, you will be finished in British politics like Neil Kinnock.
You people need to realise that the decision has been made to leave the EU and there is nothing you can do about it, so get over it. There’s probably some good causes in Wales that could keep you occupied.
