A care home in Worksop will be opening a new on-site bar for residents.
Victoria Care Home on Memorial Avenue, have built the bar so people can still feel like they are having a night out whilst not having to go far.
Manager of Victoria Care Home, Graham Cannard, said:“We are always looking for ways in which we can improve the quality of life of our residents.”
“ Some of them are unable to get out for a night on the town, so we decided to bring the night out to the residents.”
The care home has been working closely with the charity Age UK, who have a Men In Sheds project.
Men In Sheds have helped design the bar, built and installed it in the care home .
The bar will be initially run as a cafe-bar and the care home is planning to make it as close to a night out at the pub as they possibly can.
There will be an official opening of the new bar on Friday 10th October at the Victoria Care Home with drinks and live music.
The Men In Sheds team will be there on the night and friends and relatives are encouraged to attend the opening so they can join the residents for their first night ‘out’.
