Caring staff at the Worksop branch of Tesco decided to ‘think pink’ for Cancer Research UK and raised £240 in funding for the charity.
The store, based on Gateford Road, held a fundraising weekend which saw staff don pink t-shirts, carry pink balloons and sell an array of delicious pink cakes from Friday April 15 to Sunday April 17.
Customers and colleagues alike were also encouraged to remember loved ones who were fighting or had lost their battles with cancer at the Tree of Hope which was installed inside the supermarket.
Joanne Rose, head fundraiser at Tesco, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all our customers and colleagues for helping us to raise this fab amount for Cancer Research UK.”
The Gateford Road Tesco is often involved with community fundraising projects for various charities.
