Worksop: Police thank public for information after sex assault

Several people have come forward with information about a sexual assault in Worksop.

Notts Police has had a number of calls after it appealed for witnesses to the attack in Eddison Park Avenue on Tuesday 1st April.

A 51-year-old woman remains in hospital after being attacked and sexually assaulted while she was jogging.

It happened at around 8.45pm between the junction with the Carlton Road and Lancaster Walk.

“We are grateful to those people who have called in and we continue to appeal to anyone else who may have seen something unusual in that area,” said DCI Martin Hillier of Notts Police.

“Even if you think something is insignificant, let us decide as you could have a vital piece of the jigsaw we need to put together.”

Patrols have been stepped up in the area to reassure the community.
