A Worksop man and a South Yorkshire Police officer have both pleaded guilty to drugs offences.

Adam Dickinson, 29, from Birch Road, Hodthorpe, and Sarah Greaves, 29, of Market Place, Epworth, near Doncaster appeared at Derby Crown Court yesterday (Thursday 14th November 2013).

They both admitted being concerned in the offer to supply Class A drugs between 15th August 2012 and 6th February 2013.

Greaves, who has been suspended from duty since being charged in June, resigned from her post on Wednesday.

South Yorkshire Police revealed that phone records belonging to Dickinson were examined as part of a separate police investigation,

The records indicated that drugs offences were being committed between the pair.

Sentencing has been adjourned until a later date.

“Greaves has brought shame upon herself, her colleagues and the police service through her criminal behaviour and will now, rightly, be subject to punishment,” said South Yorkshire Police Chief Con David Crompton.

“Whilst Greaves’ former colleagues continue to act with the upmost integrity, dedication and professionalism, this case serves to demonstrate that no-one, including those employed as police officers, is above the law.”
