Worksop: Fight against the incinerator continues at next meeting

The fight against proposals for a waste incinerator to be built in Worksop continues.

The Worksop Against Incineration group will have its next meeting at the Station Hotel, Carlton Road, Worksop on Wednesday 29th October at 7.30 pm.

At the last meeting, Shlomo Dowen from UK Without Incineration and his son Josh were the guest speakers.

Shlomo answered questions from the group about the incinerator and possible health risks it could cause.

Some of the linked health risks created by toxins from the incinerator, include cleft palates, spina bifida and low birth weightsaccording to cmapaigners.

The proposed incinerator would be at the old recycling centre on Shireoaks Road, Worksop.
