Officers are looking to speak to witnesses to an assault at a Worksop bar which left a 45-year old man with a broken leg.

Notts Police were called just after 0.05am on Sunday morning (9th November 2014) following an assault inside the Yates’s bar in Bridge Place, Worksop.

The victim was left with facial injuries and a broken leg following the attack, which was carried out by an unknown man at the Worksop nightspot.

Inspector Neil Bellamy said: “Violence in our town centres will not be tolerated and it’s up to us all to take a stand against all kinds of violence in our county.”

“The Yates’s bar was particularly busy that night – as you would expect for a Saturday – and we’re sure someone will have seen this nasty assault. We would encourage anyone with information to come forward.”

Were you out in Worksop town centre on Saturday night into Sunday morning? Did you see the assault or a man bleeding heavily following the attack?

Anyone with information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 101, quoting incident number 7 of 9 November 2014.
