St John’s Primary School in Worksop has been celebrating a double donation to the funds they are raising for their chosen charity of the year, JDRF, which raises awareness and funds for people suffering Type 1 Diabetes.

Andrew Ferrol, a Year Three pupil of St John’s, suffers from that disease he is the driving force behind the school’s decision to support JDRF.

St John’s first received a cheque for £457.95 from Prospect Junior School in a special assembly at the Worksop school.

The fantastic amount was a Prospect school record and was raised at various events throughout the year.

The cheque was presented to Linda Foy, a teaching assistant at St John’s, and Sadie Munro from JDRF North.

St John’s also received £200 from the Community Life Fund at Asda at Celtic Point.

Nicola Peake, from Asda, made the presentation to Sadie Munro, Andrew Ferrol, Chloe Hind and Dylan Peake.
