A childcare manager who has gone ‘above and beyond’ to ensure the growth and success of her nursery has been awarded with a Guardian Rose for her tireless efforts.

Louise Passaseo, who has worked at Little Acorns nursery in Shireoaks for 12 years, was presented with the accolade in a surprise ceremony on Tuesday, September 15.

Rachael Hauxwell, chairperson of Little Acorns, nominated Louise for her hard work and kindness.

Rachael said: “During Louise’s time at Little Acorns her dedication to parents and children has been enormous.

“She has has achieved the standard of ‘Outstanding’ with Ofsted and has made the children’ first experience of education positive- literally working with little acorns to make great oaks.

“Working above and beyond to get parents involved in the running of the pre-school, she is always giving her time up to make constant improvements .

“Personally, as chairperson of Little Acorns for the last two years, Louise has been supportive and professional and she has given me the confidence to take on such an important role.

“She has constantly kept an eye out for opportunities and information to make my task easier.”

Louise was also praised for taking the time to know each child who attends Little Acorns individually.

Rachael added: “The difference made in my little girls’ life and the lives of countless other children has been immense.

“Louise always has a little fan club knocking on the office door shouting for her.

“She knows her children so well, and at the end of term leaving party she gives personal anecdotes of her time spent with them.

“You can tell that she genuinely enjoys the time spent with little ones,” Rachael added.
