Worksop joined other towns and cities across the UK today (Monday) to mark Commonwealth Day.
More than 500 flags were raised in special ceremonies, with The Queen raising the final flag at Westminster Abbey.
In Worksop, dignitaries and local school children gathered outside the town hall for a short ceremony before the flag was raised at 10am.
Veronica Pickering, deputy lieutenant for Worksop, read out a message from The Queen.
Bassetlaw Council chairman Coun Sybil Fielding then read a specially written Commonwealth Affirmation, before Coun David Pressley read out the authority’s response to it.
Father Nicolas Spicer, from the Priory Church, delivered a short sermon and prayer before blessing the flag.
A choir from Priory C of E Primary performed Sing as the flag was raised by Coun Fielding and Coun Simon Greaves, leader of Bassetlaw Council.
A similar ceremony also took place in Retford.
