A meeting to discuss the Elkesley Waste Wood incinerator is to be held in Retford tonight (Thursday).

American professor Paul Connett is visiting Retford today as part of a UK tour to talk about the health risks from waste incinerators.

Organisers say the meeting is important as there are two incinerators planned within Bassetlaw, under the supervision of the Waste Incineration Directive.

The proposed plant at Elkesley and one in Worksop could impact around 100,000 people.

The meeting will be held at 8pm at The Grove, Retford.
