LITTLE Grace Fahy was over the moon when she heard she had won three teddy bears in a competition.

But the four-year-old grinned even wider when she finally got to cuddle the bears.

“She was really excited when she heard she had won,” said Grace’s mum Amy.

The competition was organised by Norman Spiers from Gainsborough support group Gainsborough Christians As Partners.

He roped in help from staff at the Wilkinson’s store in Marshall’s Yard, and there began the competition.

Customers were asked to pay 50p to name the teddy bears.

And Grace’s winning names were Reddy, Pink Princess and Leo.

“She loves the teddies but part of the deal is to give some away to charity,” said Amy.

“We’ve decided to donate them to our village field day, where they hold a charity raffle every year.”

“Grace is keeping hold of Pink Princess, but we hope the other two teddies will go to a good home and raise money for a good cause.”

The bears had a sporty theme to tie in with the start of the Olympic games.
